Inge-Glas® of Germany unwraps a new corporate showroom in Chicago

December 25, 2006
Cannon Falls, MN and Neustadt bei Coburg, Germany

Inge-Glas® of Germany, a 410-year-old company world renowned for its authentic and original mouth blown, hand painted German Christmas ornaments, celebrates the Grand Opening of its newest corporate showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. The 800-square-foot showroom will open for the winter season at the January Chicago Gift & Home Market®, January 18-25, 2007. Inge-Glas® of Germany is located on the 12th floor of the Chicago Merchandise Mart, Suites 302/401.

Inge-Glas® of Germany also announces the debut of its 2007 Heirloom Ornament Collection. Premiering in their two corporate showrooms as well as in the showrooms of five principal representatives, the glittering new collections feature over 250 new and exclusive designs.

In 2007, Inge-Glas® of Germany will release 3 new boxed collections, St. Nikolaus and the Meaning of Christmas, A Christmas Carol and Wedding Day. These collections are beautifully detailed and presented in a wooden gift box with a story or presentation card. Several additions have also been made to the Bible Stories collection. Inge-Glas® of Germany brings these favorite stories to life with exquisitely designed ornaments. Each set or ornament is packaged in a wood shave gift box with a story card.

The Annual Reflector Ornament Series will begin with the 2007 ornament, Tannenbaum Reflections. This, their second collection of annual ornaments, will begin in 2007 and end in 2012. These ornaments are made from exclusive moulds designed by Inge-Glas®. Each ornament is mouth blown, hand painted and capped with our exclusive international trademark, the 5-Point Star Crown™. Adorned with a Swarowski™ crystal in the center of the reflector's indent, the annual ornament is retired the same year of introduction.

"Reflectors" are the capturers of light. A brilliant glow is deeply reflected with the finely molded center of the indent, creating a prism of color from the ornaments surrounding it. Considered one of the oldest and most traditional styles of Christmas ornaments, reflectors are also some of the most difficult styles for a glassblower to master. Reflectors are both a wonder of creation and a celebration of the joyful Christmas spirit.
